Data Collection
neoSim works without an account. If you do not sign in, we collect no personal data about you — no accounts, no cookies, no advertising, no tracking. We keep only anonymous, aggregate totals (for example, how many simulations ran) to understand usage and improve the tool.
neoSim offers optional sign-in — Sign in with Apple (iOS app) or Sign in with Google (web team mode) — to save your work and keep a training record. If you choose to sign in, we store on our servers (hosted on Cloudflare):
- Your Apple or Google account identifier and display name, used only to identify your profile.
- Simulation records — for solo practice: date, scenario, duration, and AI-generated teaching commentary; for team teaching sessions: date, scenario, difficulty, teaching duration, and the number of resus-team participants.
- Saved sim setups you create.
- Any reflection notes you choose to write against a session.
We do not store the identities of resus-team members or observers who join a session — only a count. We do not sell or share your data, and we show no advertising. No personal health information is collected — all physiological data is computer-generated.
Please don't enter identifiable information about trainees or patients in reflection notes — write about the teaching, not named individuals.
Data Deletion
You can delete individual simulation records and saved setups at any time from your training log or team dashboard. You can also permanently delete your entire profile and all records at once using the "Delete my data" button on the training log (solo) or team dashboard. This removes everything from our servers and cannot be undone.
Simulated Data
All physiological data displayed during simulations (heart rate, oxygen saturation, etc.) is computer-generated for educational purposes. It is not Protected Health Information (PHI) and is not linked to any real individual.
Local Storage
neoSim may store simulation statistics (such as number of completed simulations and high scores) locally on your device using browser storage. This data never leaves your device. If you sign in, a login token is stored in your browser so you stay signed in; signing out removes it.
Network
neoSim requires an internet connection to run simulations. Data exchanged between your device and the server consists mainly of simulation commands and state updates. If you sign in, your account identifier, display name, and the records described above are also sent to save them to your profile.
